Jerry develops the East Coast territory and supports customers’ technical needs globally. He is an international nutrition expert on beef and dairy cattle, poultry, (including turkeys, layers and broilers), horses and all stages of swine. His experience with feed ingredients is recognized around the world and he has lectured on the feeding value of oilseeds, cereal grains and their co-products as well as forage products. His understanding of fermentation products, such as amino acids, enzymes, organic acids and pro and prebiotics has global acceptance. Jerry is available to share his extensive knowledge on these topics through speaking engagement with your business.
A Nebraska native whose family was involved in a beef feeding operation, Weigel earned degrees in Animal Science and Nutrition from the University of Nebraska and University of Florida. His extensive work history includes senior nutrition and research roles at ADM, Renaissance Nutrition and BASF, where he was instrumental in developing value added grains and oilseeds for livestock & poultry. He has been on the Board of Directors of ASAS, FASS and CAST and is a Fellow within ASAS. He co-chaired FAIR 2012 which was instrumental in language for the last U.S. Farm Bill. He has served on a number of non-government organization scientific committees.
